"Au revoir" is the most standard way to say goodbye, which is equivalent to "再见" in Chinese;
Among friends, people generally say "Salut", that also means "hi".
In addition, it is also popular among young people to say "Ciao", the word comes from Italian;
Sometimes when people are separated, but they don’t know when they can meet again, in this case, they can say “à bientôt”, “à plus tard”, and “à la prochaine” which mean “see you next time”;
"À tout à l’heure" means "see you later", during the day;
“adieu” literally means "farewell", never seen again, and is often used to joke between friends.
